Tom Forrest is the President, Executive Producer and Director of Taillight TV in Nashville. He brings more than three decades of expertise in the television and music production industry to this project, combining his vast relationship with artists, labels and managers with a killer instinct for promoting brands and creating engaging content.
Forrest has become a staple in the television industry. In 2004, he produced CMT’s Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Super Bowl Saturday Night Special featuring Lynyrd Skynyrd, Three Doors Down and Jo Dee Messina. He has also produced the red carpet pre-shows for all three major country awards telecasts including the CMAs, ACMs and the CMT Music Awards. In addition, Forrest has served as the series producer for CMT's critically acclaimed series, Crossroads, that pairs country artists with musicians from other genres for an unforgettable night of music, most recently directing the episode featuring Shawn Mendes and the Zac Brown Band.
Formerly, Forrest worked with Picture Vision from 1993-2000, as Head of Production/Producer for television programming. During his tenure, he served in various producer roles of multiple large-scale live concert events, among them, the highly rated Emmy nominated special Garth Brooks Live from Central Park for HBO, Janet Jackson Live From Madison Square Garden as well as Faith Hill’s Live Wal-Mart Special. In addition to all his television work, Forrest has produced or executive produced hundreds of music videos and commercials from Austria to Ireland, Australia to Canada and beyond.
Originally hailing from Albany, New York and New York City, Forrest relocated to Nashville in 1995, where he resides with his wife, Kristen and their three daughters, Page, Emma and Susan. He holds a BA from Hamilton College, having graduated in 1988. He is a member of NARAS, CMA and ATAS.
